My POV on Gun Control & Oppression

Heads up: This is just my opinion and the way that I see things. If you have a different opinion & want to talk to me individually, I'd be glad to get informed or just talk.

I Despise Guns:

 Truthfully, i absolutely hate guns. If you want to be technical, I hate the really big, semi-automatic, lets-go-hunting, "protection from bears" guns. The reason is quite simple: These weapons of war have been responsible for the deaths of SO many innocent lives. 5 of the 10 biggest mass shootings in the US have occurred since 2015!

    In the past 5 years, these people have done so much damage. I'm truly sorry if I offend anyone, but these type of weapons shouldn't be allowed to enter anyone's hands. I guess other than if you were at a shooting range or hunting in the wild, but even with those 2 exceptions, I still feel there should be a professional there with you at all times watching the way you handle those weapons. Why's that? Well hey, the shooter is friendly and kind to ALL neighbors until they end up on the news. What? They have a mental illness? Oh of course! They were kind to everyone, and they seemed to be doing fine, how could they be responsible for the innocent and loving lives they took? What could ever go wrong? Yes, of course! It had to be a mental illness! Can you sense my sarcasm? I mean, it's truly sick how the news will come up with these stories about how these people were super nice to everyone. 

    Truly though, I even have issues with a handgun. The handgun, pistol, glock (whatever you call it) has been responsible for many deaths. A recent example of this is the 2019 Virginia Beach shooting.

    The shooter had a handgun, and was still responsible for taking 12 lives. The amount of damage these weapons can do, shows that no person should really be owning these things, other than i suppose sane, non-violent professionals. Going back to the mental illness topic, it's insane how the media will come up with these stories of how many white Americans shooters have a mental illness, rather than saying they're full of hate. Why is that? Well, more than likely it's because of the amount of views they get if they use these narratives. I promise, I do not mean to offend any white person, but it's upsetting how much they love to defend a white American. And no, I'm not saying that only white people are protected, but truthfully, most times white Americans have an excuse. If you disagree, then I really would like to understand what America you're living in, because it's not one that I've seen.

Double Standards:

Typically, America and her media like to take 1 accountability when seeing someone with a gun.

What do they label these people as? Well: 

Middle Eastern: TERRORISTS

Mexicans: THUGS

Black Americans: THUGS

White Americans: A FRIENDLY NEIGHBOR WITH A MENTAL ILLNESS BECAUSE THIS BEHAVIOR WAS UNEXPECTED THEY MUST HAVE SOME SORT OF MENTAL ILLNESS

    This is just how America see these people with guns. Even in the comments, white Americans are quick to point out how people of color who have been shot or killed by police or other white Americans are responsible for why they've been killed or harmed. White Americans will typically play the blame game. It's never the shooters fault, not in their eyes. Which takes me into my final topic.

Perspective:

    People are quick to give their opinion, especially when a person of color gets killed by a white person. White Americans are quick to give their opinion when most times, they'll only have THEIR perspective. They don't know what it's like to be harassed and taken advantage of. They don't understand that the life they live is not the same as what other people live. Some people have been oppressed and still are oppressed for no reason. White Americans are so cruel at times when they physically mock POC, and it's saddening how ignorant they are to not see the damage they're doing. I'm sorry if this turned to a more people-problem rather than just a gun-issue. I just felt like white Americans don't understand they have a very different life than POC. 

    Kyle Rittenhouse was literally patrolling the streets with a gun. He wasn't a cop. It doesn't matter what he aspired to be. He wasn't a cop. He shouldn't have been there. He took time out of his day to go to a protest, with a war weapon. White Americans say he was attacked first, but if he literally drove all the way to a protest illegally carrying a rifle, then who really was the one being attacked. 

    Jakob Blake was shot 7 times. White Americans say he had a knife in his car. I don't know if they realized this, but many people will carry a knife with them, whether in their pocket or in their car. It's not abnormal. 7 times was completely unnecessary. Getting shot in general was unnecessary, cops do carry tasers & pepper spray. Instead, they for their guns.

It's 2020. The 2nd Amendment has no use anymore. Guns do more damage than use. We live in the United States. We should utilize the name more often.
